Where did "McKenzie" come from?
Our farm is in what was McKenzie school district. McKenzie Church and McKenzie School were a half mile north and two miles east of our Yard. A stone cairn marks the spot.

I guess being a train engineer is in the blood. I seem to remember grandpa making trains too. I'm not sure why but I think the one I'm thinking of involved the 806, the water wagon and the old green Dodge with the ugly white hitch on the front of it. It's probably buried in the family DNA right beside the desire to light grass fires on windy days.
